187 State Police personnel involved in crimes: Gaikhangam

Imphal, July 06 2015 :
Altogether 187 personnel from the State police force including Manipur Rifles, Village Defence Force (VDF) and commandos have been found involved in different crimes recorded during the period from 2012 to 2015, Home Minister Gaikhangam told the House on Monday.
Seven guilty personnel belonging to various state forces have been dismissed by the Government for their involvement in criminal activities, Gaikhangam informed.
He further informed that enquiries are on against the remaining personnel.
He was responding to a question raised by MLA Samuel Risom.
Replying to a separate question from MLA L Ibomcha, Gaikhangam, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, said there is no provision for issuing permit for sale of refilled LPG cylinders to shops and hotels.
Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing replied that four private hospitals have so far been empanelled in the State�Suva Hospital, Shija Hospital, Sky Hospital and Raj Medicity�when MLA Dr Ng Bijoy raised a question in this regard.
The die-in-harness scheme for the State has not yet been cancelled by the Government as of now, Chief Minister O Ibobi said in his reply to a question raised by MLA Th Shyamkumar.
He informed that the Power Department presently does not have vacant post under the existing die-in-harness scheme and hence the Government is trying to deal out all applicants to other departments.
The Chief Minister while responding to another question from MLA P Brojen said target has been set to finish the dam constructed at Wangjing Hodamba Mamaang Wangjing river by Decemebr 2015 .
