Electricity office picketed

Power blackout revisits Tamenglong district again, putting people out of gear for the last one week.
Normal life has been paralyzed due to acute power shortage for the past few days.
The black out also caused inconveniences to the students appearing board exams apart from hitting the normal activities of many businessmen who depend on electricity as they have to down shutter their business establishments.
Fumes over the erratic power supply, Zeliangrong Students' Union locked up the office of the electric department in the district HQs as mark of protest against the authority's unattended nature to address the difficulties facing by the people, particularly students appearing board exams.
They also urged the student to appear their exams with black badges.
The spokesman of the union said that when they visited the power department office, officers like Executive Engineer, Assistant Executive and SO were not found in the office.
Taking serious not on the matter, the union urged all the officers to attain office.
They further set April 1 deadline to resume power supply with the warning that they will take up further course of action, the spokesman said.
