Imphal, July 13 2015 :
All non-local residents in Imphal's Mantripukhri were cornered during the curfew relaxation hours on Monday and forced to stay indoors as JCILPS intensified clampdown against them.
Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has decided to force all non-Manipuris in the State to stay indoors for five days since it kicked-off a more vigorous ILP protest in the past few days.
The committee has already announced to impose restriction on all non-locals by imposing 'curfew' against them.
Drives were carried out by volunteers of Lamlongei Yaipha Thoudang Nupi Marup and Kontha Khabam Social Development Society in the morning to make sure whether non-locals staying in and around Mantripukhri area were moving outside during the curfew relaxation hours.

Several shops owned by non-locals were found to be open, but they were cornered and forced to close down their shops and advised not to venture out.
Non-locals should not go out from homes at this time of highest point of protest demanding Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in Manipur, Lamlongei Yaipha Thoudang Nupi Marup member Waikhom Gambhini Devi told Hueiyen Lanpao.
She added that the non-local population is nearing a tipping point to surpass the indigenous population in near future.
Kontha Khabam Social Development Society secretary Ng Ibetombi Devi vowed to support the ILP protest until the Government fulfils the demand of JCILPS.
Residents of Andro village (Imphal East) marched a public rally and later staged a sit-in-protest demanding the implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
Various other sit-in-protests were also held in many localities condemning the death of student Sapam Robinhood and to immediately implement the ILP system.
Student protester Sapam Robinhood was killed in police action on July 8 following which the State has witnessed an intensified ILP protest.
On the other hand, volunteers of JCILPS (Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System) organised a blood donation camp at RIMS Imphal.
Volunteers of the committee donated blood to be given to persons during emergency during the protest.
