Zauzian Children Home (ZCH) - Girl, Jaithau Children Home (JCH)- Boy, Macarius Home - Specialized Adoption Agency (MH-SAA) and Childline Service Tamenglong, run and managed by Indigenous Women and Children Foundation (IWCF) is observing the week long Jan Andolan as part of the nation wide campaign on Covid-19 Appropriate behaviour starting from 20th of November 2020 .
The campaign focuses on the importance of regular Hand washing with soap and water, keeping social distance of 6ft from others, wearing face mask/cover at all times especially in public places, taking necessary precaution to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus and encourage others to follow key Covid appropriate behaviour and to be vigilant and bear in mind at all times the risk of Covid-19 .
Jan Andolan for Covid-19 Appropriate behaviour kick started by taking pledge by inmates and staffs of JCH, ZCH, MH and CLST on the first day along with Poster campaign within the District Headquarter.
On the Following week, mass awareness on Covid-19 Appropriate behaviour on hand washing and wearing mask has been carried out successfully in the district headquarter.
Social Services and cleanliness drive was also carried out on 28th of November 2020 under Jan Andolan for Covid-19 Appropriate behaviour at old market shed, Tamenglong.
Surrounding of the market including drains were cleansed and efficient Water for hand washing, cleaning the market shed was provided to the women market vendor association and dust suppression's sprinkling water in and around the market shed was also carried out intensively.
"In our fight against the highly contagious and dreaded Covid 19 virus and to prevent further spread of the virus, it is appeal to all the people of Tamenglong District to extend maximum cooperation and strictly observe Covid-19 SOPs issued by the competent authority from time to time.
Together we will win this fight against COVID-19", a statement by Ngankiuwang Kahmei, Administrator, IWCF said.
