Rajmel Taranithoi workshop begins

The Academy for Cultural Resources and Training under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India conducted a workshop 'Rajmel Taranithoi 2020' along with a production program at Nepra Company Makha Leikai today.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, MLA of Khangabok Assembly Constituency Okram Surjakumar stated that it has become very late to fully implement the Manipur Culture Policy.
He stressed on the importance of implementing the Manipur Culture Policy rather than just keeping it on papers which will initiate the pension scheme of the artistes and to deliver its benefits.
The MLA also appreciated UNESCO for recognizing the importance of Manipuri Nata Sankirtana thereby including it in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of Humanity in 2013 .
The second death anniversary of Sagolsem Kameshon, the ex-president of the Academy was also held in today's event.
The event is to be held in different parts of Thoubal district till December 4 .
As a part of the program a musical program was held and tributes were paid to the renowned artistes as well.
Makhonmani Mongshaba, Assistant Professor of Manipur University of Culture, Sh Nabachandra Sharma member of Sangeet Natak Academy New Delhi General Council and Maibam Ibemhal ward member of Charangpat Gram Panchayat attended as presidium members among others.
