Imphal, May 16 2015 :
Reacting to the Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) statement as quoted in a news report, United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) on Saturday said that it was "unfortunate" to have unnecessarily dragged the outfit's name "for reason known best to them" .
In a press release issued by Information and Publicity Secretary MP Haokip, UKLF said KNLF's Semol Camp 'commander' one Laldenga's allegation about the former working together with 6 Dogra Regiment in favour of BJP in the ensuing ADC election was ridiculous as it is completely "baseless, childish and immature." "The allegation clearly reflects low level of understanding/awareness and characters on the part of that organisation (KNLF) as well as its workers", said UKLF.
The statement asserted that UKLF is a "revolutionary organization" dedicated to the causes of the people and the land and hence no question of tying up with any political party or security forces on petty issues like ADC election.
UKLF said it considered the whole Kuki inhabited areas of Manipur or elsewhere as Kukiland and "thus there is no point of taking over a certain village or two" as alleged by KNLF and "invalid helpers" .
UKLF also refuted the allegation of collecting 50% annual paddy produces, force grabbing of 50% land of two villages or" killing of Seijang or Tiljang" as alleged are nothing but a cooked up stories "diabolically intended" to tarnish the image of UKLF.
The outfit warned that people should be aware of this kind of "foolish utterances in future too" .
The outfit alleged that "6 Dogra Regiment under the command of former DIG 26 Sector AR Rajeev Mankotia" was instrumental in setting up of the so-called KNLF Semol camp against the genuine wishes of the people of Khengjoi Sub-Division of Dingpi area despite public outcry and protests.
Now it is the same 6 Dogra Regiment who shifted KNLF away from Semol Village and they must have had a reason in doing that, said UKLF.
From conflict resolution point of view, UKLF too had objected to setting up KNLF Semol camp from the beginning as it was located just seven kilometres from UKLF designated Camp Nazareth in Khangbarol village, stated UKLF.
"It's a well-known fact that the so-called KNLF are nothing but UNLF deserters who surrendered" to the Government on September 9, 2013 in Imphal and their weapons deposited therein, said the outfit.
UKLF also asked why the Government and its agencies instead of sending them home with proper rehabilitation packages at that time, stationed KNLF cadres at Semol village within seven km radius of UKLF designated Camp Nazareth.
Now that, apart from Chehlep area people, KNLF cadres are "denied even by their fellow KNO groups" at Hermon Camp and it will be the best if they are re-located somewhere outside Chandel district, stated UKLF.
"Everything now will depend upon the wisdom of the Government and we have to wait and see" .
