The proscribed PREPAK has decided to suspend fund collection drive from all commercial vehicles including trucks and buses plying along National Highways and other State Highways.
For the outfit, collection of monetary contribution at the rate of 1 percent and 2 percent from schools and colleges have also been banned completely, informed a press release issued by Tiger, spokesperson of the Department of Publicity and Propaganda, PREPAK.
In case the people cannot accept the certain amount of money collected from different Government Departments, PREPAK will try to halt the fund collection drive from these Departments.
However, PREPAK will welcome with open arms all kinds of support and cooperation provided by the people sincerely to the outfit towards its struggle for liberation of Kangleipak, said Tiger.
He disclosed that PREPAK will not take back those cadres who had left the outfit and formed their own faction, into its fold again nor will it admit cadres belonging to other parties.
Tiger further clarified that Thoudam Upendro alias Ibungo alias Risk (28) of Khurai Thoudam Leikai arrested by a team of Imphal West commandos on June 22 from Sekmai while indulging in extortion activities from trucks/buses plying along NH 39 was not related to PREPAK in any manner.
All his accomplices involved in extortion from the public should surrender to the outfit within five days failing which they should accept whatever punishment is awarded to them by the party, warned Tiger.
Cops on bike arrest thief : A team of Imphal East commandos patrolling on bikes (Apache) held a thief along with the booty from KR Lane at about 9.45 am today.
The thief is identified as Sapam Nicky alias Shaolin (20) of Kongba Kshetri Leikai, staying currently at Porompat.
The stolen goods recovered from his possession include two bicycles (Captain), two mobile handsets (Motoro-la) and an empty wallet.
It has also been learnt that Nicky is also an N-10 tablet abuser.
