Security has been tightened in West Bengal with authorities maintaining a strict vigil on vital installations and government establishments in view of yesterday's serial blast and firing by militants in Nagaland and neighboring Assam, official sources said.
''We have tightened security all over North Bengal and taken precautionary measures following the explosions and firing by militants in Nagaland and Assam yesterday,'' the sources said.
Police patrolling is being introduced in strategic areas of North Bengal districts and a strict vigil being maintained on vital installations, railway stations, tracks and government establishments, the sources said.
