NPF, Ukhrul Div refutes

NPF, Ukhrul Division has strongly refuted the charges against Honpam Jajo who was arrested by police commandos from Dewlahland, reports Mungchan Zimik.
Honpam Jajo is NPF unit secretary of 43-AC Phungyar, Ukhrul and not a member of NSCN-IM as alleged by the police commandos.
Speaking to mediapersons at the party office located at Viewland, Wungnaoshang Shimray, president, NPF, Ukhrul Division said that after the Chief Minister's visit in Ukhrul, police commandos has started to apprehend innocent civilians especially those belonging to Tangkhul community who were on their personal work in Imphal and would brand them as NSCN-IM members.
He further stated Honpam Jajo who is now in police custody is an active NPF party worker and is also a secretary of NPF, Phungyar Unit.
Strongly condemning the inhumane act of police commandos, he alleged the State Government of trying to tarnish the image of NPF.
NPF is prepared to launch a series of agitation if Honpam Jajo is not released at the earliest, he added.
District level mathematics competition The fourth edition of Ukhrul district mathematics competition was organized by Longyo Welfare Development Society at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School (UHSS), Wino Bazar, reports Mungchan Zimik.
Over 700 students from 20 schools participated in the competition.
