Awareness programme held

Senapati, October 30 2016:
The Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of I and B, Government of India, Senapati Unit, organised a one day special awareness programme on 'RMNCH+ A and Mission Indradhanush, Population Stablization, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Anaemia among adolecence girls 2016-17', at Leikot village under Sadar Hills, Senapati district.
Social worker Mangkhosat; Dr Thangboi Kipgen, Guest Professor, Assam University, and Dr Lhingboi attended the programme as cheif guest, guest of honour and resource person respectively.
Jitendra Kumar Pradhan, Field Publicity Officer, Senapati Unit delivered the keynote address while FPA Senapati A Sankhil Geore delivered the words of appreciation.
Speaking at the occasion Mangkhosat said people should not be hesitant about immunizing their children.
He urged the people to cooperate with the medical team when such programmes are organised in the village.
The health of women and children should be given priority as the well being of the village lies in the good health of mother and her child, he said.
Guest of honour Dr Minthang Kipgen urged all the villagers to save and educate girl child.
Resource person of the programme explained in detail the importance of vaccination for mother and child during pre and post delivery.
The department also conducted a healthy baby show as part of the
awareness programme.
