3 days Kut carnival begins at CCpur

The three days Chavang Kut festival hosted began today at Tuibuong with Meghalaya MP, Conrad Sangma, and president of the armed outfit KNO, PS Haokip, jointly cutting the inaugural ribbon and unveiling the brotherhood monolith erected exclusively for the event.
Sangma who graced today's event as the chief guest stressed the need for development in the region and called on the MPs from the North Eastern States to unitedly work for the same.
He also likened the culture and tradition of a community with the roots of a tree and commended the committee for hosting such a festival as it promotes unity and understanding amongst the kindred communities of the region.

Former president of American Laos Community, USA, Khamphone Viengluang, who also graced the event released the Kut souvenir.
Delivering his presidential message, PS Haokip said the event is intended to bring the rediscovered Kuki-Manasseh tribes who are spread across India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Laos, closer.
These tribes, he said, have now crossed the 70 mark with the recent entry of Meiteis, Aos, Lothas, Semas and Garos.
Tomorrow, Thangkhosei Haokip, president KIM will address the function along with leaders from CNTC, Nagaland; Khiamniungan; Mishing; Ao; Karbi; Sangtam; Singpho; Chang; Tang; Sema; Nyishi Baptist Council; Lotha; Wancho; Kuki Inpi Barak Valley; and the president of ZoRO.
Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla is set to grace the main event on Tuesday.
Leaders from Yimchunger, Adi, Phom, Kachin, Bodo, Kaipeng, and Zeliangrong will address the main day as well.
