Imphal, March 30 2016:
Even as the Ministry of Rural Development
and Panchayati Raj has already sanctioned fund to the State under
NREGA for the year 2015-16, the same is yet to reach the
beneficiaries as the State Finance Dept has failed to release the fund,
said M Asnikumar Singh, general secretary (Adm), BJP Manipur.
Speaking to reporters today at BJP office, Asnikumar said
that the Centre has sanctioned fund for NREGA to the State
a month back.
However, the same has not been released yet
by the State Finance Dept.
This inordinate delay in release of fund by the State Govt
has caused untold problems to job card holders, he said while
accusing the State Congress Govt of pursuing 'anti-poor'
policy.
He urged the State Govt to release the fund to all imple-
menting agencies of the nine districts of the State at the
earliest.
Asnikumar warned that the Centre will be directly apprised
if the State Govt makes any attempt to misuse the fund.
He added that the BJP will always face any 'anti-poor'
policy of the State Government.
At the same time, Asnikumar in a separate statement de-
rided the State Govt's efforts to set up a Technical University
in the State through an ordinance when it finds many difficul-
ties in running the existing educational institutions.
He said that the only rationale for the State Govt's hasty
decision to set up a university through ordinance is about the
appointment of new VC, other teaching and non-teaching staff
before the 2017 Assembly election.
