MSRRDA team inspects PMGSY roads

A team of senior engineers of Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA) inspected road construction works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) at different places in Tipaimukh, Jiribam and Tamenglong.
The inspection tour of senior engineers led by CE of MSRRDA Ningthoujam Bapuchand and Addl CE Th Shyamsunder was held during March 27-29 .
The officials warned of initiating action against those concerned if works that do not meet PMGSY technical specification are not repaired.
N Bapuchand said that the tour gave more emphasis to Jiribam-Tipaimukh road (JT road) .
The team inspected three places where construction works are taken up along NH-150 and JT Road.
Construction works were also inspected in Jiribam subdivision.
JT Road-Champanagar road, Jirimukh, Mongbung and Bhutankhal roads were also inspected.
The team also inspected a bailey bridge over Patchao river along Islamabad and Chingdong Leikai road and a bridge constructed over Gorkhale river along the Borobekra and Jatrapur road.
Bapuchand said that construction works which do not meet PMGSY technical specification were detected by the inspection team.
The officials issued strict instruction to contractors and engineers concerned to repair the shoddy works within 20 days or face the music.
The CE further said that inspection will be conducted by the officials very soon in the area.
The ongoing works are undertaken under Xth phase of PMGSY.
Bapuchand further said that about 105 villages are targeted to be covered under the
XIth phase.
Preparation of DPR of the XIth phase for submission to the Govt of India is going on.
The team also inspected two works undertaken in Tamenglong district during the tour.
