TPR falls; 311 new cases, 3 deaths reported

The daily positivity rate came down to below 10 per cent after eight days on Friday as government bulletins reported three fatalities and 311 new positive cases out of 3199 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 9.72 per cent against 11.85 per cent on Thursday.
The active caseload has also come down to 3486 out of which 1337 (38.35 per cent) are in home isolation, 805 (23.09 per cent) in CHICs, 765 (21.94 per cent) in CCCs and 579 (16.61 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 130 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 202 are on oxygen support and 61 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS, Hand Hospital and LFS Covid Treatment Centre though these facilities have 158, 31 and 16 patients respectively.
At the same time, 20 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Friday evening, 448 beds including 75 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Thursday evening 2785 beds were reportedly available in different CCCs, and 295 beds (20 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 83,266 positive cases and 1396 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw an addition of 14,167 new cases and 214 fatalities out of which 2451 new cases and 31 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 311 new positive cases included 308 civilians (150 male & 158 female) and 3 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (17), JNIMS (20), District Hospitals (193) and other testing centres (81) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (78), Imphal West (125), Thoubal (22), Bishnupur (30), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (15), Churachandpur (13), Chandel (4), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (1) and Kangpokpi (3) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 3 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been provided.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (1) and Imphal East (2).The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1770.None of the four victims had received Covid vaccines and one did not have any co-morbid conditions.
In the last 24 hours 418 patients were discharged from home isolation (180), RIMS (11), JNIMS (13), CCCs (76) and CHICs (l38) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,12,666 (general population - 1,08,564 and CAPF personnel - 4,102) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,07,410 (general population - 1,03,339 and CAPF personnel - 4,071) and number of active cases is 3,486 (general population - 3,460 and CAPF personnel - 26).The recovery rate is 95.33 percent.
In the last 24 hours, 1334 D-type and 326 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 3508 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and the cumulative number of vaccinated (both partially and fully) individuals has reached 11,81,800.However, only 3,22,093 of them are fully vaccinated though there are 3,93,496 people eligible to get the second shot of the vaccine.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (38,046), Imphal East (25,140), Thoubal (9070), Churachandpur (9504), Kangpokpi (2603), Tamenglong (3076), Bishnupur (8636), Senapati (2051), Ukhrul (2222), Kakching (6108), Chandel (2143), Noney (987), Tengnoupal (1011), Jiribam (995), Kamjong (709) and Pherzawl (365 ).
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (588), Imphal East (416), Thoubal (163), Churachandpur (152), Kangpokpi (56), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (181), Senapati (7), Ukhrul (25), Kakching (109), Chandel (33), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (12), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 36,309 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,390 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,86,150 tests per million population against the national average of 3,68,983 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 3199 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 9.72 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity rate stands at 9.40 per cent.
