Saplings planted in the name of Leishemba Sanajaoba

Under Go-Green campaign and to enhance beautification, Maram Union & MKS (Maram Students' Union) had yesterday planted tree saplings of bearing flowers and fruits at the Mystic Lizai Lake (Sadim Pukhri) premise in Senapati.
Varieties of planted saplings over 600 numbers including cherry, rhododendron, mango, etc, said a statement of the Maram Union.
It also said that the date of the plantation (June 19) was specifically chosen in commemoration of his Highness, Manipur Maharaja Leishemba Sanajoaba contesting the Rajya Sabha.
Saying that the site of the plantation at Lizai Lake (Sadim Pukhri) bears historical significances between Meitei Royals, its Prince and Maram forefathers and the lake is situated on a hilltop, with its natural source of water that feed on the lake throughout the year, it added that the tree plantation was carried out in support of Senapati Forest Division.
Earlier, the union had also planted a tree sapling in the name of Maharaja Leishemba Sanajoaba, it continued.
