AR organises medical camp

12 BIHAR of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a free medical cum screening camp at Tera Bazar yesterday in collaboration with JNIMS and ABBOTT India Officer 12 BIHAR who highlighted that the medical care and health education is a paramount to achieve the greater aim of nation building at the grass root level in remote areas.
Around 300 people were benefited from the camp which included 110 males, 140 ladies and 50 children.
Specialised doctors from JNIMS diagnosed the patients for medical, surgical, gynecological, eye and ENT problems.
For development of the village and improving basic necessities, Commanding Officer 12 BIHAR felicitated youth members and village elders and assured the populace of continued support from Assam Rifles.
Consequently after recieving appreciations by the locals, AR promised to organise more such camps in the near future.
In the later part of the camp AR distributed ration to orphanage and children home in Tera Bazar.
The village authority of Tera Bazar village wholeheartedly extended their gratitude to the Army and Assam Rifles.
Also, 20 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Mega Medical Camp at Machi village yesterday.
The medical camp was organised in collaboration with the Primary Health Centre Machi with an aim to provide medical diagnosis and treatment to the locals of remote villages.
A composite team of eight doctors including medical, dental specialists and 121 paramedical staff participated in the camp.
Free health checkups were carried out and medicines distributed, to more than 500 patients.
Ultrasound machinery, laboratory and dental equipment, based on mobile van facilitated to the service.
Pamphlets covering information on first aid for snakebite, awareness on HIV/AIDS, precautions on malaria etc., were also distributed to everyone.
The village residents were also assured of full support for various social welfare measures in the future.
The local populace greatly appreciated the initiative and pledged for full support to Assam Rifles.
