A free heart camp celebrating the World Heart Day was conducted by the SKY Groups of Hospitals today, informed a release issued by the PRO of SKY Groups of Hospitals.
Various heart problems were detected in the camp including artificial heart valve implantation, coronary artery disease with double stents etc.
Patients who need further checkup would be checked for free at SKY hospital Porompat, it added.
It may be mentioned that another free heart camp was organised by the group on September 6 .
Chairman and Chief Cardiologist of SKY Group of Hospitals and Philanthropist, Dr L Shyamkishore said his mission and vision is to provide free heart camps at all districts of Manipur.
Ultimately, the main objective of conducting such camps is to carry out early detection of heart diseases and its treatment which would be provided free of cost specially to the BPL patients who cannot afford expensive heart treatments.
He also highlighted that the free treatments held by SKY groups would be assisted from Manipur State Illness Assurance Fund (MSIAF) and Manipur Government employees and their dependents (through reimbursement process) as the hospital is the only private hospital in Manipur empanelled by the Government of Manipur for such free treatment.
