Imphal, January 09 2016 :
Civil society organizations of Sadar Hills today strongly
condemned the dumping of bodies at different areas of Sadar
Hills, our correspondent reports.
Speaking to media persons this evening at Kangpokpi,
Seikhomang Khongsai, convener, CSOs, Sadar Hills said
many incidents of dumping of unidentified bodies have
been witnessed in the past at various places in Sadar
Hills.
No one claimed hands in most of these incidents.
Recently, an unidentified male body was dumped in
the eastern paddy field of Keithelmanbi ward no 7 under
Kangpokpi police station.
The body was found in the
afternoon of January 4.Police sources suspect that the
deceased might have been beaten to death somewhere and
later abandoned him at the spot.
The CSOs convener
appealed the groups/individuals involved in the incident
to come out openly and state their reasons in connection
with the recent Keithelmanbi incident.
'Sadar Hills is not a disposal land for dead body',
maintained Seikhomang Khongsai.
He also appealed security
forces to avoid unnecessary harassment upon
villagers where such unidentified bodies were dumped
since they are equally in the dark regarding the incident.
CSOs, Sadar Hills, meanwhile appreciated the boldness
of Keithelmanbi Village Authority for protesting
against such undesirable incident in their areas.
