Imphal, January 09 2016 :
Deputy Chief Minister and MPCC president
has cautioned the people of Manipur to be beware of BJP.
He was speaking at a public meeting held in connection
with the election of Mayang Imphal Municipal Council today.
Gaikhangam urged the people of the State not to trust BJP
as the party is allegedly not a secular party.
He claimed that BJP had omitted the term - socialist secular
- in an advertisement published by the party in connection with
the 66th Republic Day of India.
Gaikhangam said that BJP must respond to the people
regarding this goof-up.
Saying that RSS was banned in connection with the assassination
of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi,
Gaikhangam said that the ban was lifted only after RSS assured
that the organisation would never become a political
party.
However, a group of people emerged as Jana Sangh and
later transformed into BJP, he said.
Gaikhangam said that the group of people who try to carry
away with the ideology of Hindutva would never succeed in
their endeavour.
As such, people must support the Congress candidates in
Municipal and Nagar Panchayat elections, Gaikhangam said.
Questioning what progress has been made under Prime
Minister Narendra Modi so far, Gaikhangam said that the
Congress Government under the leadership of Okram Ibobi
has made remarkable progress in the State.

Ratankumar, Agriculture Minister Md Abdul Nasir, MOBC
Parliamentary Secretary Md Amin Shah, Wakf Board Chairman
