Imphal, January 09 2016 :
The Kabui Mothers' Association (KAMA) has
urged the State Govt to fulfil its promise for construction of Rani
Gaidinliu Complex in recognition of her freedom struggle.
The CM had promised for construction of Rani Gaidinliu
Complex during the 100th birth anniversary celebration of the
late freedom fighter last year.
Addressing media persons at the office of the Zeliangrong
Union, Paona Bazar, president of KAMA Kakomlunglu
Kamei said that the State Government has failed to deliver its
promise to the people almost a year back.
She added that a team comprising of the Director, Art and
Culture, Government of Manipur, representatives of KAMA
along with field staff of SDC/Heingang visited some sites in
Imphal East district on Oct 8, 2015 for identification of suitable
site for construction of the said complex.
In the visit both
sides unanimously decided to propose the land which is situated
adjacent to National Highway 39 and on the Northern
side of Manipur High Court Complex.
Even though the proposed site was recognized and necessary
land holding documents were furnished to KAMA, no
works for construction of said complex has started, she alleged.
She added that if the State Government fails to take up
any concrete steps for construction of Rani Gaidinliu Complex
by Jan 15, a memorandum will be submitted to the Prime
Minister of India to draw his attention.
