Leader of a faction of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), KK Nganba arrested in New Delhi in January this year by a combined team of Manipur police, Army and Delhi police has been shifted from Tihar jail to Imphal today by a team of state police team.
A JOINT team of army, Manipur police commandos and Delhi police arrested seven hardcore members of the newly unified KCP including its nominated president on January 1, 2009 in New Delhi.
Chongtham Manglemjao @ KK Nganba @ Chaoba @ Koi @ Irabot of Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak, Imphal, leader of KCP (Mangang) group, nominated as general secretary/home secretary and foreign secretary of the newly unified group before he was arrested from New Delhi.
He was arrested with some other important leaders like N Amumacha, who had nominated as president of the newly unified group of KCP (Mangang, City Meetei and Lamphel) factions, Ng Ratan, nominated deputy finance secretary the unified group and two lady cadres were allegedly involved in extortion activities.
Since his arrest with the other members of the group, KK Nganba has been lodging at Tihar Jail, New Delhi.
A team of Bishnupur district police brought him at Imphal by air by producing production warrant to a court here in connection with a case under FIR 19 (3) 2008 registered with Nambol police pending with him.
The case was registered under section 302/34 and 25 (1-C) Arms Act and 20/16 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act, 2004 .
