Peeved with non-disbursement of three months' salaries, employees of the Manipur Home Guard Service have braced up for a cease work strike.
A large number of Home Guards called on MLA M Hemanta today and talked about their grievances.
MLA Hemanta is the president of the All Manipur Home Guard Department.
In addition to their three months' due salaries, the Home Guards also demanded compilation of their MGEL and opening bank accounts for Home Guard personnel.
The Home Guards cautioned that they would launch cease work strike in case their demands are not met at the earliest.
To this, Hemanta asked the Home Guards to wait till July 7 before going ahead with the proposed stir, said one Home Guard personnel.
In case, no agreement can be reached during the talk scheduled to be held on July 7, the Home Guards would be launching cease work strike, he added.
Notably, Home Guards have been manning Secretariat offices, Traffic Police Department, district headquarters, police reserve line etc.
