Dimapur, April 02 2012:
Tension continues to prevail in the Nagaland districts of Mon and Zunheboto as there have been re-enforcement of large number of cadres from both the NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) group and NSCN-(Khaplang) faction in the region.
An intelligence source informed Newmai News Network tonight that both the warring factions are rushing their respective cadres as much as they can to the far-flung districts of Nagaland for a show down.
The official source said there have been around 80 to 100 cadres of NSCN-Khole/Kitovi group in a locality in Zunheboto district itself as part of the re-enforcement of the outfit.
The outfit's leader Khole is also camping in Mon district at the moment, according to the intelligence source.
This build-up situation is a follow-up action of the recent clashes between the Khole and Khaplang groups.
At least four Naga underground cadres have been killed in the recent clashes.
It can be noted that with the NSCN (Isak Muivah), NNC/FGN and NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) groups signed a pact to cease all forms of antagonism among the groups, it has been the Khaplang faction and that of Khole/Kitovi group that waging gunfights.
The ceasing of factional clashes among the Naga underground organisations, save Khole/Kitovi and Khaplang factions, there have been silence of gun sounds in Naga areas in the last few years, thanks to the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) .
The Forum for Naga Reconciliation is instrumental in halting the three Naga underground groups from the fierce factional clashes that were witnessed in Naga areas until the early part of 2008.The Dr Wati Aier led FNR after its formation had engaged numerous football matches involving the three warring Naga underground groups and Naga civil society bodies.
Several conclaves convened by FNR had also been held both in Nagaland and abroad.
