Imphal, November 21 2013:
The 48-hour total ban on vehicular movement imposed by United Naga Council (UNC) in Naga inhabited areas of the State from the midnight of November 19 demanding an alternative arrangement and resolution to the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks has seriously affected movement of vehicles along Imphal-Moreh Road (NH-2) in Chandel district today.
The UNC's bandh was supported by Chandel Naga People's Organization (CNPO), Naga Women's Union, Chandel, Naga Students' Union, Chandel, Naga Chiefs' Association, Chandel and other social organizations.
The supporters blocked Imphal-Moreh Road at Lamkang Khunou.

As a result of the bandh, no vehicle from Imphal headed to Moreh while some vehicles coming towards Imphal from Moreh were stranded at Tengnoupal.
The motorcyclists of Royal Riders Manipur (RRM), who were returning to Imphal from Moreh after making publicity of the Sangai Festival, were also blocked by the bandh supporters.
A tussle between the agitators and motorists ensued, but later security forces quelled the road blockers and freed the RRM members.
Further, the protestors prevented a Hyundai i-10 car escorted by a convoy of Assam Rifles from passing through the bandh.
