Slopeland Public School offers free education to Myanmar students

Slopeland Public School Khongjom, guided by an intention to establish a cordial bilateral relationship between India (Manipur) and Myanmar, has offered to provide education to some Myanmarese students at the school free of cost.
As a part of their education exposure trip to Manipur University, a team of MBA students from Monewa University of Economics led by a Professor and a Lecturer visited Slopeland Public School, Salt village, Khongjom today.
The Myanmarese team was accorded a warm reception by Principal N Babulin, advisor Dr M Nara and students of the school.
They also a presented a memento each to the Myanmarese academic team.
The Myanmarese team who came there along with teachers of Manipur University were shown the beautification works being done inside the school compound.
They were also shown the digital class rooms being installed inside the school as per CBSE curriculum.
Later a reception cum interaction programme was held at the school's conference hall.
During the interaction programme Slopeland Public School Principal N Babulin made a benign gesture of his intention to establish and sustain a long last bilateral relationship between Manipur and Myanmar.
He also offered to provide education to some Myanmarese students at the school free of cost.
He promised to provide education as well as accommodation facilities to selected Myanmarese students if the Myanmar authority gives its due permission.
Such an arrangement would cost the school around Rs 50,000 per student annually.
These expenditures would be borne by the school, Babulin assured the visiting foreign team.
Advisor Dr M Nara stated that if schools of Myanmar can tie up with Slopeland Public School, academic exchange programmes can be organised regularly and this would certain give enhanced knowledge to students of both the countries.
This would facilitate sustaining a strong bilateral relationship socially, politically and culturally.
Welcoming the offer of free education, the Myanmar academic team remarked that the bonhomie shared at the interaction programme would enhance mutual respect and trust between Manipur and Myanmar.
