Auto drivers visit orphan homes in Sadar Hills

As part of its annual Picnic cum Advent Christmas celebration, Sadar Hills Auto Owner's Association today paid a visit to the four orphan homes within Sadar Hills, two at Kanglatongbi, one each at Sapormeina and Kangpokpi and donated one bag of rice each.
All the 108 members of the Association belonging to different communities like Kuki, Naga, Nepali, Meetei and others first congregated in their respective autorickshaws at Thomas Ground, Kanggui this morning and later they were flagged off by its President Sehbem Kipgen after invoking a prayer.
The autorickshaw drivers marched up Kangpokpi Bazar to spread the message of Love, Unity and Peace among all communities settled in the town before visiting Agape Children Home at Kangpokpi where they interacted with the inmates of the orphanage and donated one bag of rice.
From there, they went down to Sapormeina and Kanglatongbi where they paid visit two more Orphanages and donated one bag of rice each.
The party later came up to Koubru Leikha river bed where they organized a big Picnic party and sung Christmas songs apart from organising other recreational activities.
On the occasion, a condolence service in memory of all the departed members of the Association was also conducted.
