Proposed mass rally to be replaced by sit-in

The proposed mass rally of the non-Congress political parties which was scheduled on September 23 over the demand for resolving present border dispute along Indo-Myanmar International boundary has been withdrawn following clamping of prohibitory order under CrPC 144 in greater Imphal area.
The rally would be replaced by a sit-in protest demonstration on the same day at Keishampat.
According to official source, an All Political Party meeting was held at the office of MPP at around 1 pm today.
With exception to Congress, all other political parties in the State took part in the said meeting where it was unanimously resolved to cancel the proposed mass rally and replace it by a sit-in protest demonstration at Keishampat on September 23 .

During the course of the meeting, the present issue over the border fencing along Indo-Myanmar border at Moreh where a large chunk of Manipur's land has gone to the Myanmar side, was seriously discussed at length and further resolved to take necessary action until an amicable solution is brought about.
The meeting also recapitulated the meeting convened by the Opposition parties earlier in this regard and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, leaders of various political parties, the Chief Minister and the Governor of Manipur.
Representatives of MPP, BJP, NCP, Trinamool Congress, CPI, MSCP, CPI (M), JD (U), BSP, Lok Jana Shakti and NPF were present during the meeting.
