HM for strengthening intelligence network

To decrease the 'after-impact' of any untoward incident felt by the public from the security personnel while trying to investigate into the incident, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who also holds the portfolio of Home, has expressed his desire to strengthen the intelligence network of the security personnel.
Speaking as Chief Guest of the Passing out Parade of 54th batch of Havildars of IRB and Manipur Rifles at the Parade Ground of Manipur Police Training College (MPTC), Pangei today, Gaikhangam said that it will be easier for the security personnel to come up with solid finding in investigation if their intelligence network is strengthened and at the same time innocent public would be spared from exposure to the 'after-impact' of any untoward incidents at the hands of security personnel.
He further stated that security forces are meant for security of the people.
As such, they should be someone whom the public could rely on in time of needs and feel safe.
Security personnel should not be something which the public fear to bump into.

While praising the hard works and dedication of security personnel, the Home Minister said that they are the guardians of the state where rule of law is in forced.
He also appealed to the state police force to work in accordance to law of the land and make Manipur Police as the best Police Organisation in the country.
The Home Minister further hinted at the possibility of upgrading MPTC into a training institute for the Police officers in due course of time and urged the security personnel to gain the respect of the public with the works they execute for the public.
Altogether 436 security personnel were released from their respective trainings to join the service on the occasion.
Among them included 174 Havildars of Indian Reserve Battalion and Manipur Rifles, 69 security personnel of the 54th batch, who have been inducted under the die-in-harness scheme and 192 personnel of Radio Telephone Operator (RTO).
Certificates and mementos were also awarded to the Parade Commander of the Passing out Parade and selected security personnel who showed exceptional performance during the training course.
The function was also attended by MLA E Chand, DGP Y Joykumar and P Doungel, Director of MPTC and other top officials of the Manipur Police Department.
