Paomee Welfare Foundation assists journalists

Paomee Welfare Foundation (PWF), a charitable Trust of All Manipur Working Journalist's Union (AMWJU), on Saturday distributed the phase -1 of its annual Medical Financial Assistance for the year 2019-20, amounting to Rs 3,00,000 .
PWF's team, led by its chairperson, Wangkhemcha Shamjai, handed over the financial assistance to the beneficiaries at a simple distribution function held at the Manipur Press Club, said a statement of PWF.
Founder member of AMWJU and former Press Club secretary, N Deven Singh was awarded an assistance of Rs 40,000 .
Chongtham Meghabarna Singh, Editor Paonilkhon and Rakesh Lourembam of People's Chronicle whose mother and father respectively are currently undergoing cardiac treatment at Sky hospital were also provided Rs 40,000 each.
Eikhoigee Panthung Editor, Manglem Pechimayum was offered Rs 35,000 for his ongoing treatment.
Ireipak's Nongmaithem Jonish, whose father passed away after suffering from chronic liver ailment was awarded Rs 35,000 .
Nongthombam Arun Meitei of Naharolgi Thoudang who had applied for financial assistance for Myocraditis treatment of his wife was offered Rs, 30,000 .
Sukham Nanda, former secretary general of AMWJU whose wife suffered from Subserosal Fibroid & Hypothyroidism was given Rs 25,000 while Leihendro Loukham of Shenmilton Weekly was awarded Rs 20,000 for his daughter's ailment.
Okram Brajamani Singh of UNI was given Rs 15,000 as assistance towards treatment of his wife's Glaucoma.
Raj Nonthombam of Impact TV who had undergone a Gall Bladder Surgery and Md Ayub Khan of Ichel Express whose father suffered from pneumonia were awarded Rs 10,000 each as assistance, said PWF.
The second phase of the MFA for the 2019-20 would be disbursed in April 2020 for treatments done between 1st September 2019 to 31st March 2020 .
N Tombiraj, former AMWJU president and trustee, Asem Bhakta, trustee, L Shanjit Kumar, AMWJU treasurer/trustee, Kh Naoba AMWJU general secretary/trustee, Sunzu Bachaspatimayum, trustee and managing trustee and AMWJU president, Bijoy Kakchingtabam attended the event.
