1200 solar lights handed

Khuga Battalion has handed over 1200 solar lights to villages located along Indo-Myanmar border on March 30 and 31 .
After the induction of Khuga Battalion in Singhat sub-division, the unit has organised various outreach programmes to identify the poor families deprived of basic amenities, said PIB(D) in a statement.
Lack of electricity in the far flung areas including Zoukhunou, Theigotang, Hiangtam Khunou, Hengjang, C Lanchah and Buangmun villages remain the main issue for the villagers.
The company operating bases located near these remote areas took up initiative to ease the hardship of the villagers.
Continuing the service, 1200 Solar lights were distributed to the far flung villages.
This effort of Khuga Battalion reflects its dedication and sense of solidarity towards the local populace and will certainly go a long way in achieving the goal of 'Winning hearts and minds' of the villagers residing in border areas, PIB (DW) said.
