Woman killed in mishap

A 53 year-old woman was killed in a mishap today at Santing village, about 100 kms from here while two others also suffered varying degrees of injuries.
Sources said a Bolero jeep with 9 people on board left Senvon village in Parbung district for Churachandpur town around 5 pm yesterday.
The vehicle reportedly met the mishap and fall into a gorge about 100 ft deep early today in between Santing and Saihum villages along Tipaimukh road.
The mishap which occurred at about 4 am was noticed by Santing villagers who mounted efforts to rescue the occupants.
Of the nine people rescued, three were found to be critically injured.
An ambulance belonging to HYA that rushed to the accident spot immediately on learning about the mishap shifted them to the District Hospital Churachandpur but one of them identified as Lalrimawi, 58 wife of Lamfangzau of Senvon succumbed to her injuries on the way.
Two others, Jerusalem 17 d/o Lalsanglien and Lalruotkim 26 d/o Thara both from Senvon are now under treatment at the district hospital.
