DPUVO condemns Nambol Municipal Council

Development and Protection United Voluntary Organisation (DPUVO) Nambol has condemned the Nambol Municipal Council for allegedly providing false information and sending police to disrupt the meeting convened by DPUVO, Nambol and Nambol Apunba Nupi Lup, Nambol at Nambol Bazar, yesterday.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held today at its office, DPUVO secretary Th Lamjingba said that the meeting was convened to discuss on several subjects, including developmental projects at Ward's under Nambol Municipal Council.
During the meeting, the gathering demanded the council to produce a white paper and audited statement of the allocated budget and expenditure for the term 2016 to 2020 within 10 days, he said adding that the association will submit a memorandum to Chief Minister, MAHUD Minister and SDP Nambol to dissolve Nambol Municipal Council.
If the Government fails to fulfil the demand laid down by the organisation within 10 days, different agitations will be launched from the following day, he cautioned.
The press meet was also attended by DPUVO president, Taorem Khaba Khuman; working president, K Suleshor; treasurer Y Yelhounaba, Nambol Apunba Nupi Lup secretary, L Premila Devi and publicity secretary, A Samina Devi.
It may be mentioned that the organisation had also demanded that projects other than construction of Nambol Municipal Council or market shed should not be implemented at the area where the old office of the council is situated.
