Churachandpur District Council Teachers' Association (CDCTA) has staged a sit-in-protest today at its Office located at B Vengnom demanding the six-point charter of demands which include immediate release of long pending 14% DA arrear, 6 months salary, completion of MGEL and B.Ed deputation.
Around 611 teachers took part in the sit-in-protest.
A rally from its office to the DC office was also taken out.
The teachers have submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary through the DC.
The protesters were seen holding placards reading 'release 14% D.A arrear,' 'we condemn non-release of 14% DA,' 'monthly salaries are our constitutional rights' etc.
Talking to media persons here, CDCTA president Tualkhanlal said another sit-in-protest will be organized on September 6 at Keishampat junction wherein representatives from the four hill districts Council Teachers' associations will take part in it.
He said the council's teachers will also launch a hunger strike till their demands are fulfilled by Government at the earliest.
Chandel: Sit-in-protest was staged today at Chandel by members of All Manipur Autonomous District Council Teachers' Association, Chandel branch.
The protestors were registering their grievances to the state government's alleged failure to release six months pay of the members, non-release of 14% DA from January this year, incompletion of preparation of MGEL by the six CEOs of the autonomous district councils.
The protestors have also handed a memorandum to the DC of Chandel addressed to the state Chief Secretary demanding his intervention and prompt redress of their grievances.
