No CAA in NE : Ningol Club Heirok

Demanding that the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) should not be implemented in the entire North East region, volunteers of Ningol Club Heirok staged a protest demonstration at Champra Thong, Heirok Part-III, today.
Speaking to media persons, secretary-general of the club, Sophia Khundongbam asserted that the Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) will have little meaning and could not save the indigenous people of North East India if all the States in the region is not shielded from the CAA.
If Assam and Tripura are not defended from the legislation which aims to grant Indian citizenship to 6 non-Muslim undocumented migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, then just like a tiny puncture could do so much damage to a big ship, the demography structure of the entire North East region will be several affected, she said and added that Ningol Club Heirok will always stand against such Act.
She also appealed all concerned to cancel the rally planned on December 29 supporting the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019.Condoling the death of all those who died protesting against the CAA across the country, she extended solidarity to all the family member of the deceased.
Placards that read "No CAA in Northeast "No CAA Yes Freedom" and "Long Live Manipur" were used by the protesters.
