62nd CC Meet 2019; Asito Krose scores twice as Laban Club beat KLASA 4-2 to reach semis

Asito Krose scored a goal each side of the break to help Laban Club, Shillong post a comeback 4-2 win against KLASA, Keinou in the first quarter final match of the 62nd Sir Churachand Singh Memorial Football tournament (CC Meet)- 2019 at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
Although KLASA opened up the scoring first, the guest team from Shillong did well to overturn the lead by scoring twice in the first half itself before closing out the game 4-2 .

The match played amidst protest with KLASA claiming that Laban Club are featuring two non genuine players, saw Laban Club dominate the game with both the pace and possession and building pressure upon the local team early on as Victor Shadap played a pivotal role.
But against the run of the play, it were KLASA who broke through first in the 16th minute with H Romesh converting a fine chances after being set up by his seasoned team mate L Nabachandra.
However it did not take long for the Shillong side to pull level as Asito Krose made no mistake in converting a penalty kick awarded to them in the 28th minute after Victor Shadap who was inside KLASA box with the ball under his feet, was fouled by defender Ngoubamacha.
Laban Club sustained their momentum and it was within 9 minutes that they were rewarded for their consistency as Arkwis Wanniang tapped in past the KLASA keeper after connecting to a fine cross provided by Victor Shadap from the right flank.
KLASA looked to struggle with the pace of the Shillong team and had to see the latter team enter into the break with a 2-1 lead.
After the restart, Laban Club picked up the game from where they left and sealed their third goal at the stroke of the hour mark with Asito Krose converting a well measured cross delivered by Victor Shadap taking advantage of a defensive lapse.
KLASA failed to make amend in their defence set up even after conceding three goals and to their disappointment they had to see H Sumanta effort miss by a whisker.
Laban Club continued to exploit the flaws in the KLASA defence and to leave further dent, Victor Shadap who set up two goals and earned a spot kick earlier, did the scoring himself in the 74th minute and made it 4-1 .
Hapless, KLASA which were denied to reduce the gap on few occasions by Laban Club defence and keeper, however managed to grab a consolation goal lately in the 84th minute through Herojit and made it 2-4 at the end.
Later, Asito Krose who sealed two goals for Laban Club was named player of the match and feted with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 donated by Future Football Club.
Tomorrow, SSU, Singja-mei will meet Sagolband United in the second quarter final match at 1.45 pm .
