Awareness programme on financial inclusion concludes

The "Financial Inclusion Awareness Program through Digital Village" which underwent at various venues/parts of Sagolband Tera Sapam Leikai Gram Panchayat, Imphal West since March 26 has ended today.
The closing function of the awareness programme at Juvenile Club, Tera Sapam Leikai was graced by Sagolband Tera Sapam Leikai GP Pradhan Athokpam Bishorjit, Juvenile Club president Sapam Robindro, HDFC Senior Manager RK Priyogopal and ATYATI State Supervisor Maibam Nandakumar as presidium members.
Notably, the awareness programme on financial inclusion was organized by CSC eGovernance Services India Limited under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, GoI at various parts/venues of Sagolband Tera Sapam Leikai Gram Panchayat, Imphal West from March 26 .
The awareness programme was an initiative to cover maximum beneficiaries who are 18 to 60 years of age as prime focused individuals of the village/locality after the selection of the said village as Digital Village by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, GoI to digitally empower them to bring about digital revolution.
Speaking at the function, the speakers stressed on the growing importance for creating awareness on financial inclusion while pointing out that majority of the people today have bank accounts and transact money online as part of their daily business.
The speakers urged the localities in Sagolband Tera Sapam Leikai to reap the benefits of the awareness programme and facilities available to accelerate financial inclusion.
Maibam Nandakumar underscored that need for delivery of financial services at an affordable cost to larger section of the society to realise financial inclusion.
Further maintaining that opening bank account has no meaning if no transactions are done, he encouraged the localities to develop the habit of saving money in their respective bank accounts.
He added that those account holders who made frequent transactions and savings in their bank accounts will get more opportunities while applying for loans from banks.
