'Differently abled persons will not vote if welfare not included in manifestos'

If manifestos of the political parties fielding candidates in the coming Lok Sabha elections do not have any provision and welfare scheme for the differently abled persons, State Platform of Disable People's Organisation, Manipur and Disable Development Association, Manipur will boycott the elections, said the organisations today.
The differently abled persons will not vote in the elections, the organisations said.
Speaking to media persons, president of State Platform of Disable People's Organisation, Md Yunus Khan said that a Member of Parliament can spend a minimum of Rs 10 lakh per year from the MPLADS for the welfare of the differently abled persons.
However this fund have not been utilised properly by the MPs, he alleged.
All the MP candidates are seen talking about fighting CAB and other issues, but none talked about welfare of the differently abled persons, he said.
If welfare scheme of the differently abled persons are not included in the manifestos of the political parties concerned, the disabled persons will boycott the elections, he said.
Lok Sabha elections will be held on Arpil 11 and 18 in the State for Outer and Inner Parliamentary Constituencies.
