Imphal, March 28 2019:
INC Inner Manipur Parliamentary candidate Oinam Nabakishore on Thursday interacted with the people of Hiyang-thang Tarahei under Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency.
Speaking to the people at Tarahei Konjil Primary Madrassa ground, O Nabakishore said that he took voluntary retirement and joined politics to better serve the people.
The former Chief Secretary of the State also talked about various issues plaguing the growth of the State.
He accompanied several Congress party leaders to Delhi and lobbied against the CAB 2016 which was at that time waiting for Rajya Sabha approval, said Nabakishore.
The Bill, he said was against the secular structure of the Constitution.
"Amit Shah has promised to reintroduce the CAB if BJP returns to power," he reminded the people and added that Congress' stand is clear and firm.
It is against the CAB and if elected will fight tooth and nail against the Bill to save the indigenous people, he said.
Dr S Manaoton, who recently joined Congress, said that the ensuing election is going to be a 'battle between BJP which is a threat to the interest of the indigenous people and the Congress, saviour of the indigenous people' .
He also said that the Minimum Income Gurantee scheme announced by Congress president Rahul Gandhi will end poverty in the whole of India.
Many party leaders, senior citizens and local leaders including Hyder Ali and Md Wahib attended the event organised by Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Block Congress Committee.
