Assam Rifles organises community service, security meet

Mantripukhri and Tulihal Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised community service and security meet today with an aim to interact with the local populace as well as sensitise them in regards to existing security situation in the area, said IGAR (South) in a statement.
The community service cum interaction was organised by YKPI Company Operating Base (COB) of Mantripukhari Battalion at Baptist Church in Gualtabi.
The interaction was aimed to familiarise and orient troops of the COB with the locals as well as identify with their local customs and traditions.
The event commenced with offering of prayers followed by an interaction with the villagers.
The interaction proved to be of immense significance as over 35 villagers willingly shared their various issues of concern, said AR.
As part of the security meet conducted by Patsoi COB of Tulihal Battalion at Kachikhul village, locals were updated on current situation existing in the area of responsibility.
There was also an interaction carried out on necessary measures required to be undertaken for maintaining a strict vigil against illicit activities in the area, future action plan in respect of civic action projects, recruitment in Assam Rifles and Army and career counselling for youth.
The attendees were also sensitised regarding the ill effects of drugs among the youth and to guide them to lead a healthy & prosperous life and helping to create a drug free environment.
The security forum was attended by the ward Councillors, Pradhans, youth Club members and representative of Police along with, locals of the area, said AR.
The villagers expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for connecting with them and extending their support to the villagers, added AR .
