KYU seizes liquor, sensitizes liquor vendors at Kpi DHQs

Kangpokpi, August 05 2020:
To curb the gathering of crowd which is against the Government SOP, the Kangpokpi Youth Union conducted a liquor drive in the liquor vendors in town.
During the drive in downtown Kangpokpi, the youth union seized 18 beer cans yesterday and disposed them in public in the presence of Kangpokpi police and Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization.
The union also seized another DIC liquor this morning which were also disposed off in public in the presence of Kangpokpi police.
Speaking to media person, Haolet Khongsai, president KYU said that even when the town is under complete lockdown, the area around liquor vendors in downtown Kangpokpi always remain crowded from afternoon, posing high risk to the people and it is also against the provided Government guidelines and protocols.
He also said that all the liqour vendors were summoned and instructed to close down their respective vendors and warned them that anyone found violating the instruction shall be penalized, with befitting action.
He further said that Kangpokpi DHQs is in an alarming situation of community transmission and cannot let any unfortunate incident to happen owing to carelessness and negligence on the part of the liqour vendors.
He also appealed to the people of Kangpokpi town to strictly follow the Government SOPs for the safety of the town and the people while cautioning that while stepping out in case of emergency, everyone must wear masks and maintain social distancing.
