The new Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, Prof S Sekharjit, who assumed the charge on September 14, had an interaction with the staff of the Administrative Block today.
This was his first staff meeting after becoming the Director.
After the formal introductions, he appealed to all of them to be dutiful and punctual in attending office.
He also sought cooperation from all of them in streamlining the administration.
They should abide by the rules strictly, and care should be taken to ensure that there is no infraction of any sort.
He also appealed to the engineering section of the Institute to be cautious about financial transactions and maintaining quality constructions.
The Deputy Director (Administration), M Chandramani also spoke on the importance of abiding by the official rules while the Chief Accounts Officer, E Debendra stressed on the financial rules.
Earlier, the Director inauguarated a two-day training programme on fighting HIV/AIDS at the mini auditorium.
Twentythree delegates from many states are participating in the training programme.
It is being organised by the Department of Microbiology.
The Director said that the training programme would be helpful to the participants in fighting HIV/AIDS.
He also underlined the need to procure only quality machines from the renowned companies.
He further said that such machines should be made available to the patient throughout the year.
Prof Brajachand, Head of Department, Microbiology, said that the objective of the training programme is to prepare the participants in the fight against this dreaded disease.
He said that this disease is posing a serious threat to the world, and Manipur is one of the places worst affected.
He said that many subject experts will deliver lectures during the training programme.
