The lifetime Achievement Award 2010 of Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) will be given to the renowned lyricist, B Jayenta Kumar Sharma.
The award will be presented during the foundation day celebrations of AMMIK to be held on September 30 at JN Dance Academy auditorium here.
The award carries a sum of 10,000, a citation and a memento.
Jayentakumar Sharma has been chosen to be honoured with the award in recognition of his priceless contributions to Manipuri modern song.
Late lyricist and singer Keisham Jaminikant Singh will also be honoured during the celebrations.
Simple gifts along with a sum of 5,000 would be presented to the family of the Late lyricist and singer.
The annual awards for lyrics, singer and best composer for the year 2010 would not be given on the foundation day of AMMIK this time.
The awards would be distributed in the mega finale of the ongoing music serial being presently telecast on ISTV Prime Channel presently to be held in about mid December.
Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board, MLA Bijoy Koijam would be the chief guest at the function.
Chairman of MANITRON and Treasurer of MPCC, MLA Dr Kh Ratan and Director, Art and Culture, Kh Sorojini would be the guests of honour, and President of AMMIK, Thounaojam Samo would preside over the function.
A journal of AMMIK would also be released on the occasion.
Modern song singer and emminent film maker Aribam Shyam Sharma would speak about modern songs at the function.
Later a musical concert would also be organised on the day.
