A three day photo exhibition held under the theme 'India and Election' at Tribal Research Institute, Chingmeirong concluded yesterday.
The photo exhibition was jointly organised by the Election Commission of India and the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity.
The exhibition was opened by Governor Gurbachan Jagat on September 13. The three day exhibition aimed at 'Greater Participation for a Stronger Democracy' not only drew a large number of visitors from various walks of life but also elicited appreciation from prominent citizens, top Government officials, legislators as well as students.
The exhibition was organised to inform the public about the process of elections conducted in democratic India during the last 60 years.
The recently concluded Photo Exhibition at Imphal was the fourth such event held in the North East.
The ECI and DAVP will organise another exhibition at Aizawl and Shillong on October 2 and at Agartala in November.
Similar exhibitions had already been held at Guwahati, Itanagar and Kohima.
