NSCN (IM) holds up 20 trucks at Karong

Twenty trucks which left Imphal on NH 2 for Dimapur have been detained by suspected NSCN (IM) cadres at Karong under Senapati district.
According to reports reaching here, the trucks were detained at Karong by suspected NSCN (IM) cadres demanding payment of two years road tax to the outfit.
The NSCN (IM) normally takes Rs 5,000 as road tax from goods trucks for one year.
The suspected NSCN(IM) cadres are insisted that the trucks should pay their two years road tax, or else they would not be allowed to leave.
Surprisingly, the Senapati Police Station, which is only 6 kms away from Karong, said that they have not received any information about the detention of the trucks so far, when Hueiyen Lanpao contacted the police station.
