Sekmai AC MLA Dr Borajao passes away

Communist Party of India MLA from Sekmai Assembly Constituency Dr Heikham Borajao has passed away in the early hours today following a cardiac arrest.
Dr borajao is the seventh MLA of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly to have passed away while in office.
Th Navakumar (Khundrakpam), M Manindra (Moirang), Dr Th Budhichandra (Konthoujam), E Kunjeshore (Yaiskul), E Suraj (Yaiskul) and Wungnaoshang Keishing (Phungyar) were the other departed MLAs.
Born on March 1, 1949 at Khurkhul Mamang Leikai in Imphal West district, Dr Borajao left behind his wife, three sons and two daughters.
It is informed that Dr Borajao was admitted to JNIMS Hospital late last light but failed to respond to treatment and consequently breathed his last at around 4.20 am today.
After the mortal remains was brought to his official quarters at Babupara, where his Manipur Legislative Assembly colleagues led by the chief Minister paid obeisance to the departed soul, the corpse was taken to the BT Road office of Manipur State Council CPI for similar obituaries followed by observance of a two minute silence.

Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya was also present during the condolence service held at Babupara.
At the Manipur Legislative Assembly complex many State legislators offered floral tributes to the departed soul.
Later in the day the last rites were conducted at his native place.
Describing the MLA as a committed statesman and man of principle, the Chief Minister said the demise of Dr Borajao is not only a loss for his family but a moment of grief for the entire State.
After paying tribute to the deceased legislator, CPI MLA N Mangi described Dr Borajao as a sincere leader of the Scheduled Caste community as well as the working class people.
He also conveyed CPI's pledge to fulfil the unfinished endeavours of the departed MLA.
Expressing his views, Minister Ph Parijat said that Dr Borajao expressed his keen desire to attend public events of the Prime Minister yesterday but regretted that due to illness he (Dr Borajao) was not able to do so.
Before entering politics Dr Borajao had served as a Joint Director in the Health and Family Welfare Department.
MPCC (I) president Gaikhangma has also deeply condoled the demise of the MLA.
Meanwhile, Dynamic Youth Farmers' Club, Sagolband Tera Sapam Leirak has deeply condoled the untimely demise of Dr Borajao.
