Training on Manipuri language begins

The five-day training programme on natural language processing (NLP) began today at the Conference Hall of School Education Directorate, Lam-phelpat.
The training progra- mme is being organised by the Department of Language Planning and Implementation, Govt of Manipur in collaboration with Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), MHRD, Govt of India, Mysore.
Kh Raghumani Singh, Director of DLPI and represen- tative of Linguistic Data Consortium for Indian Languages (LDC-IL), Atreye Sharma attended the inaugural programme as the presidium members.
A total of eight resource persons will deliver lectures on how to prepare and produce Manipuri e-dictionary, spell-checker, gram- mar checker, reading internet text in Manipuri etc with the help of linguistics, computer science and artificial intelligence during the training programme.
