SBI computer sets stolen, recovered

Swift action by Churachandpur police resulted in the arrest of two miscreants, along with computer sets belonging to an SBI branch at the district headquarters, a few hours after the duo had stolen the gadgets yesterday.
At around 9 am, the side door of the Pearsonmum branch of SBI was found to have been opened forcibly and on further observation, three computer monitors, two keyboards and two mouses were found missing.
Subsequently, an FIR was registered at Churachandpur PS and all sources were activated to trace the looters and recover the stolen gadgets, a senior police officer of the district said.
Based on specific information, the police, today evening, raided a house at the nearby Bungmual village and arrested one V Ginminlal (26) s/o Chunkhogin and 2 monitors and as many keyboards and mouses were recovered from his possession.
During spot interrogation, he revealed another accused -Thangkhanhau Tonsing (26) s/o (L) T Kamzathawn of the same locality and subsequently the latter's house was also raided and the remaining one monitor was seized.
All stolen items have been recovered and investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the incident, added the source.
The incident came barely a fortnight after a joint security team led by Churachandpur police under the supervision of the district's new Superintendent of Police, Amrita Sinha rescued a village chief and arrested his captors in addition to recovering a huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to the perpetrators.
