Imphal, July 27 2019:
Vehemently condemning the death of Ningthoujam Babysana inside the hostel of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Manipur Students' Association Delhi (MSAD) has expressed disappointment at the political gimmick of the State Government, in which it keeps on transferring cases to the CBI.
A press release issued by the president of MSAD mentioned that many cases which were transferred to the CBI are yet to be solved and claimed that people believing more in CBI enquiry is a clear manifestation of a drastically failed State administration.
It alleged that for the power mongers in the Government, handing over the case to the CBI is one of the easiest escape plans from the agitating people and narrated that many high profile cases, including the killing of Thangjam Manorama and the recent custodial death of a police personnel Manjur Ahmed, have been lying at the hands of the CBI without any lead even to this day.
MSAD continued that the increase in privatisation of the education and healthcare sector is a very disappointing development and reasoned that this will only lead to chaos and disruption in the society, adding that the time is right for the authorities concerned to intervene in the matter.
On the other hand, MSAD alleged that the recent statement made by an office bearer of Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) is rather untimely and in bad taste and claimed that MSAD vies the statement as a pretext to save the face of the Government and those in the business of private education.
Further, MSAD offered its condolences and sympathies to the family of the deceased and assured that it is ready to support the movement for getting justice for Babysana.
