All India Sub-Jr Ranking Badminton tournament : Pranav Rao Gandham wins U-17 boys singles title

Imphal, July 27 2019:
Pranav Rao Gandham from Telangana won U-17 boys singles title and Isharani Baruah of Assam claimed the U-17 girls title at the Yonex Sunrise Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament hosted by Manipur Badminton Association at Khuman Lampak Indoor Hall under the aegis of Badminton Association of India.
Pranav Rao got the better of Shubam Patel of Rajasthan in straight set (21-12, 21-17) in the final today to claim the U-17 title.

Isharani Baruah on the other hand made a big return after the second game snub as Kriti Bharadwaj of Karnataka made an abrupt comeback to seal the game 21-15, 8-21, 21-15 for the U-17 girls title.
The U-15 boys singles title went to Raghav from Haryana who overcame Lakshay Sharma of PNB 14-21, 21-14, 21-18 and Tara Shah of Maharashtra was crowned U-15 girls champion after beating her Gujarat rival, Tasnim Mir 21-13, 22-24, 21-15 in the final clash.
Lokesh Reddy (Telangana) and Ankit Mondal (West Bengal) were crowned U-15 boys doubles champions after their 21-17, 21-14 win against the pair of Tonmoy Bikash Boruah (Assam) and Lakshay Sharma (PNB).
Tamil Nadu pair of Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar R were able to clinch the U-17 boys doubles title at this tournament.
They prevailed 21-12, 21-18 in the final against Ayush Patnayak (Odisha) and Suhas V (Karnataka) to win the said title.
The U-15 girls doubles title also went to the Tamil Nadu pair of Gnanadha Karthikeyan (Tamil Nadu) and Sania Sikkandar who edged Andrea Sarah Kurien (Kerala) and Pavithra combination 21-15, 19-21, 21-13 in the final.
The Karnataka pair, Janani Ananthakumar and Tanya Hemanth on the other hand fetched the U-17 girls doubles title with a 2-1 set win against Gnanadha Karthikeyan and Sania pair.
Janani and Tanya conceded the second set after a commanding start but made their way back stronger to finish the game 21-15, 25-27, 21-15.Ayan Rashid (Assam) and Tasnim Mir (Gujarat) pair managed well to win the U-17 mixed doubles title beating Delhi's pair of Advit Bhargava and Navdha Manglam in the final while Sathwick Reddy K (Telangana) and Swetaparna Panda (Odisha) proved stronger to Tamil Nadu pair, Nathan Shieh and Nardhana VR to claim the U-15 mixed doubles title.
The players were feted today during the closing ceremony of the tournament in the presence of Speaker, Y Khemchand Singh; Health Minister, L Jayantakumar; Minister YAS, Letpao Haokip as dignitaries.
