Imphal, July 27 2019:
KSA has soughtthe attention of the State Government to withdraw the non-recognition of DM College of Teachers Education and Government Hindi Teachers training College by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Speaking to media persons at KSA's office today, its president N Chetan said that the Eastern Regional Committee of NCTE has, during the congregation held at Bhubaneshwar on July 15 and 16, denied recognition of DM College of Teachers Education and Government Hindi Teachers Training College, which is rather unfortunate.
He said that the DM College of Teacher Education, the only teachers training centre of the State which was approved by the Government, has a total intake of 150 candidates out of which 150 are in service and 50 in pre-service.
The College has been contributing immensely in the process of selecting eligible teachers, he remarked while adding that cancelling recognition of the said college is a great loss for people and the State.
Chetan warned that the State Government should take prompt action in solving the matter as the case of insufficient teachers is still prevalent in the State.
He questioned why the respective administration of the Colleges failed to provide any response, to the notice issued by NCTE on February 21 and May 18, about the Colleges faculty, staff, building structure etc.
Chetan claimed that it is because of such neglect and failure to submit necessary details of the respective colleges that the higher authority has decided to cancel recognition of the institutes.
He demanded the State Government to initiate immediate steps to appoint qualified Principal, staff and to revoke NCTE's cancellation order.
He warned that KSA will join hands with other organisations concerned to launch extreme agitations if the Government fails to do the needful at the earliest.
